The Surf Coast Salute has now come to a close.
Since the 10th January 2014 members of the Surf Coast community have been nominating others on the Surf Coast for the little things they have been doing, because it's these actions that help shape the Surf Coast community. We want to encourage them to continue. We all know it's the small things that put a smile on people’s faces.
Some of the great nominations we received...
Nominations closed on Saturday 25th January at 12 midnight, and we are proud to announce on Australia Day which nominees will receive a gift from Links Property to recognised their contribution to making the Surf Coast the amazing community that it is.
We need to thank the very generous Torquay businesses that supported this initiative… The Moto Good, Scorched, Joco Cups and TUS Coffee who donated all these terrific gifts to make this possible.
So… drum-roll… the lucky recipients of the gifts for the inaugural 2014 Surf Coast Salute are:
With the following nomination:
Karen Brown: A 2-hour pillion ride along the Great Ocean Road on the Indian Chief –valued at $250 provided by Moto God, Torquay.
Amber Potter: A Joco 12 oz glass travel coffee & tea cup and 250g of TUS coffee beans – valued at $39
And with the following nomination:
Daniele Walker: A pack of four Joco glass coffee or tea cups from their new homeware range, plus 2 x 12oz glass travel cups – valued at $90
Lisa Corker: A Joco 12 oz glass travel coffee & tea cup and 250g of TUS coffee beans - valued at $39
And with the following nomination:
Naomi Wadling: A voucher to dine at Scorched Restaurant in Torquay – valued at $50.
Pete Wadling: A coffee voucher valued at $21 – provided by TUS Coffee Torquay
It certainly wasn't hard for people to think of others to nominate… and knowing our community very well, I'm convinced there are hundreds more people doing great things for others every day - so don't stop saying thanks to these people, it's the little things that need to be recognised!
It was great to gain the support we did from the Surf Coast Times... provide coverage on two occasions during the Salute and at the end:
Until next time...
Your Neighbour!
